Borne out of a recommendation from the Commission for Developing Scotland’s Young Workforce, the IIYP award recognises organisations that recruit, retain and develop Young People. Dawnfresh is one of only 43 Scottish businesses recognised at gold level. The award is fantastic recognition for the contribution young people make to our business.
IIP’s Health & Wellbeing good practice recognises businesses where a commitment to employee health and wellbeing is an integral part of their strategy.

Dawnfresh Shortlisted for S1 Recruitment Apprentice Award
The Dawnfresh team is delighted to be recognised by S1 Jobs in their prestigious Recruitment Awards. Our Tasty Jobs youth employability programme made the shortlist in the Apprentice & Graduate category. Tasty Jobs provides training and work experience to unemployed young people in our local communities. Everyone who successfully completes the programme is offered a full-time job at Dawnfresh, with a Modern Apprenticeship training and qualification programme to support their development. Over the past 12-months Tasty Jobs participants have joined our production operations, supply chain, product development, engineering and finance teams. Making the shortlist is fantastic recognition for the huge contribution our apprentices make to our business.
Courtauld Agreement 2025
Dawnfresh Seafoods Ltd, one of the UKs largest trout farms and processors, has this week pledged its support to the Courtauld Commitment 2025. Dawnfresh has signed up alongside other organisations such as Warburton’s and Premier Foods to tackle key issues in the food and drink industry for reducing food waste, water use in the supply chain and greenhouse gases. To initiate and drive change, over 90 organisations have signed the agreement, which includes food & drink manufacturers, local authorities, trade bodies and retailers.
In recent years, Dawnfresh Seafoods Ltd has supported the previous Courtauld agreement, known as Courtauld 3, by making a significant impact minimising waste within its operations, as well as identifying new markets for material that would be traditionally regarded as waste.
The Courtauld Commitment 2025 is a voluntary agreement that is being led by the Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP) with three aspirational targets:
• 20% reduction in food & drink waste arising in the UK
• 20% reduction in the Greenhouse Gas intensity of food & drink consumed in the UK
• A reduction in impact associated with water use in the supply chain

We are faced with some big challenges ahead with rising populations, climate change and dwindling resources. But tackling food waste offers a practical option to address these challenges and in doing so, will create new opportunities. Only by working together can we hope to realise the big changes that are essential to ensuring a more prosperous future for individuals, business and the planet.”
