Stringent technical compliance with line with some of the UK’s leading retailers. Our achievements have been recognised especially in recent awards from M&S, Tesco and Sainbury’s.
In 2012, M&S awarded Dawnfresh with silver validation against their How We Do Business framework, part of M&S’ Plan A sustainability programme. We were the first food supplier in Scotland to achieve this recognition, and only the third company in the UK. Now, we're going for gold.
We are regularly and voluntarily audited on our ethics, and make the results available through SEDEX (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) - the not-for-profit organisation dedicated to driving improvements in responsible and ethical business practices in global supply chains. See more about SEDEX
The BRC Global Standards is a leading safety and quality certification programme, used throughout the world to standardise quality, safety, operational criteria and manufacturers’ fulfillment of legal obligations, and to help protect the consumer. Quality Trout UK is the pre-eminent quality assurance scheme for trout farming in the UK. QTUK scheme members are inspected annually by an independent body, with a focus on product quality, food safety and traceability, environmental best practice and fish welfare. See more about QTUK
The MSC has developed the world's toughest best practice guidelines and standards for sustainable fishing and seafood traceability, and applies to wild rather than farmed fish. We are audited annually for MSC certification. See more about MSC
We won a Green Apple award fromThe Green Organisation, with the support of the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland, in recognition of our reduction in energy consumption and environmental impact. RR. Spink & Sons holds a Royal Warrant as Fishmonger to HM The Queen, and supplies the Royal Household.
